As we’re all gearing up for the season, my head is swirling with fresh and new ideas! So this is an official call for snow-loving equestrians. That’s right, I’m ready for a model to try out some of these new ideas and THIS is your opportunity!
What it includes:
– if your application is accepted, (we can only choose one) you will have a creative session on the house (a $189 value) and (1) masonite mounted 11×14 sized print of your choice (a $224 value).
-you will be eligible to purchase additional prints if you’d like at a discounted price.
-(this is NOT a regular creative session. These are model images for the artist).
To be eligible you must:
– sign a model release (as usual)
– have a horse
– have a QUIET horse 😉
– be ready and willing to get out with said horse in the snow at your farm for as long as it takes to get the shot (hopefully not much longer than 1hour depending on your horse).
– be open to trying new things aligning with the interpretation of the artist (that’s moi). 😉
– be open to wardrobe and styling suggestions
– be mobile and flexible with the weather (we will be planning according to it). Once snow is on the radar, we will begin making our plans!
To apply:
please send your name, address, phone number and small photo of yourself and your horse AS WELL AS a small photo of your farm (no worries, you don’t need anything fancy– even a camera phone will do) to info@priddysweet.com. Subject line: SNOW MODEL. Also include a few sentences about you, your horse, and your farm and why you think you’d be a great candidate for the snow model.
Applications are on a first come-first serve basis for approval so don’t delay. Once your application is accepted, we will communicate all further details!

Yesterday we went outside for some fresh air. Finally. The girls have been preferring to stay inside to bounce on their bounce house instead of braving the cold but… we toughened them up enough for a 30 minute outdoor adventure. (No wimps allowed in the Priddy house)!! The hats are just awesome. My aunt Susan gave them to the girls for Christmas and they’ve been hip and “in style” (that is, “eskimo style”) ever since.
we LOVE the snow around here. Seriously. And probably because we don’t have it so often in Tennessee (its been a record January for sure!) but how can you complain when its so beautiful? The winters here are usually dingy and muddy and cold. I’ll take this ANY day. At least its nice to look at!
How have you been celebrating the winter weather?

things are just, well, sort of all over the place around here. Literally. I practically had a mental breakdown on Saturday when I looked at all the unpacked suitcases (from our Christmas trip more than 2 weeks ago!) and piles of laundry halfway up the wall and blockading the hall. Who knows when I’ve mopped the floor last? And don’t get me started on the bathrooms. The mental breakdown occurred when I realized that while I’m a very talented creator, and an appropriately focused worker-bee, I am a TERRIBLE household manager. Somehow I can manage my business? But the house? Forgettaboutit. One day I will be able to afford to hire someone to help me. As for now, we just do the best we can.
So, tears in my eyes, I explained to Brandon that I was just completely STUCK overwhelmed (a curse of this stupid attention deficit). I get stuck when I look around and don’t know where to start and I can’t figure out what to do so I just sit. And stare. (and sometimes cry). Medicine or not, I could not imagine where to begin on the cleanup project (hence my need for a household-manager). It was too much. Because he’s the greatest husband ever, he stayed home to help me sort and organize. And I’m SO thankful… because… LOOK!!!
I got these at Home Depot for (sit down) $20 each!!! UnHEARD of for the size and quality of these guys. They’re “workforce” brand. I shopped Lowe’s and Walmart too and couldn’t find anything in similar quality and size for anything less than $35-$55 each! So, if you’re in need of sturdy plastic storage shelves, then go see if your store has them!! its a great deal!  As for me, I’ll be buying them out here in East Nashville. 😉 AND Here’s what’s left to sort: (more…)

this post has been a long time coming. We have been so busy since we stepped foot back on Tennessee soil… I haven’t had the chance to tell you about our snowy adventure in upstate NY! It really ISN’T an adventure unless you put 4 adults and 2 toddlers in a car and drive 14 hours one way, right? (those are the times you wish they were both still in diapers so you don’t have to stop 18 times for potty breaks!).
while were there (in addition to seeing tons of family) we were able to take an afternoon to teach Audrey how to ski!! Enjoy! (and I apologize for the quick photos! I am still learning the new software…)

What a gift it is to capture this period of waiting and joyful anticipation for a new family member. It has been such a blessing over the past 10 year...
