ok, I have to admit. This made me want to put my wedding dress on again. Isn’t she gorgeous? The buttercups (while otherwise a nuisance to horse owners) were a most gorgeous backdrop for bridal shots. Don’t we all dream of wearing a flowing white dress in a field of flowers with horses? (ok, well…hopefully its not JUST me…)
Watching the royal wedding this morning (well, I watched the recap of it…I missed it live) made me open my mind up to dream. So what do you do with this? Look around you. Take a color, an expression, or a look and use it for inspiration. Dream in pictures of your own. Write a story, paint a picture, do something that expresses you and your unique view of the world. YOUR creative eye and mind.
These images are a direct product of dreaming…. representations of fairy tale longings I have seen in my (more…)
What you need to know is that this farm is magical. Life abounds. Flowers, trees, animals, beauty. I was just telling Kristen the other day, “when I think of “home” I think of Penrose first.” And as strange as it is, its true. While I can only give you words to describe my experience, I wish that you all COULD experience it. Taking pictures there can give you a glimpse, but those who knew this farm as “home” at one time or another know what I mean.
Dear Penrose Spring Mini Sessioners, I envy you.
I seriously had a blast working with everyone and meeting your horses. You’d never even know that we (more…)
You may recognize this face from a few months ago (6 to be more precise). Its baby sophia! The baby in the box! She is growing like a champ and has the sweetest, most precious smile. I absolutely love it!
In this instance, the lucky one was ME. This was so very very cool. Can you say with any true conviction that there is anything more beautiful than a bride among wild horses? I can’t. And while these horses are the opposite of wild (though at times their owners would surely object), they definitely let their more natural-side shine for this. Miraculous behavior swept across this herd and although they were clearly EXTRA curious, not once did they even consider a move in malice….not even toward (more…)
The first half of Kati and Lex’s session was a non-snow session–even though, yes, she is supposed to be in the snow. We have a split session! {Why?} Here’s hoping for snow…maybe even this weekend!
While we’re all waiting on snow, ya’ll need to stop by Kati’s blog and see what she’s doing over there. She talks about God, life, and horses, and I even saw some sweets she was baking there too– and we all know how I feel about those!! Not to mention, Kati is an insightful and candid writer!
Thanks, Kati (and Lex) and to the best 2 assistants (Holly and Kristen) ever!!! Get ready for round 2! But for now… view more images here!!
It is possible that you may be a little confused seeing tid-bits of Kati and Lex here and there on the blog and on facebook. It isn’t unreasonable to think, “wait a second… she is the “SNOW model” and there is no snow?” LOL. We decided to split up the model session for them to make best use of the available light and get everything we need to get in accomplished. SO!! You will be seeing more of these two (we hope…start praying for snow to stick!!), but here’s a sneak peak at their first 1/2 session.
more of this first half will be on the blog later this week!!
