This summer we did a contest for the CDCTS Spring 2011 horse show participants to win a session with priddysweet. Kate Wooten Diamond was our winner of the contest and upon acceptance of her prize asked if she could give the session to a young friend of hers. I believe the quote was, “she always takes photos of us at horse shows and never has any taken of her.” (so sweet…)
Fast forward a few months to the first week of November—meet Nikki and her mare Olivia. They had recently relocated to Dry Ridge Farm. It was our first time to shoot an equestrian session out there and we loved it. Many thanks to Kristen (as always) for the help! Enjoy!! (more…)
This little guy LOVES hanging out at the farm… if you can’t tell. And this barn kitty is most certainly amused by the offering of a horse treat (pictured left) as you can see too. Matthew is very familiar with all the things a normal 2 year old knows and says but he has an advanced knowledge in the horse world already. Ask him: “what color is that horse?” and he’ll tell you straight up, “bay.”
You’ve never felt fur as soft as Ace’s, FYI. Truly. (just a little random thought to start out their post) LOL. Aimee and Ace (and Todd too!) met me early early in the morning with hopes for catching some misty fog out at the farm. While we didn’t catch any fog, we did catch some great moments. And one of those moments might just be my next new canvas (sorry, Brandon…) . You all know I can’t resist!!! Enjoy! (more…)
If you can’t tell from the images, these two are very special friends. Shelly has had Gracie for over 10 years. And while the seasons are changing in their lives, their bond will not be broken. I’m so happy that they had an opportunity to share this time together and am HONORED to have witnessed and captured this relationship. Enjoy a peek inside! (more…)
ok, I have to admit. This made me want to put my wedding dress on again. Isn’t she gorgeous? The buttercups (while otherwise a nuisance to horse owners) were a most gorgeous backdrop for bridal shots. Don’t we all dream of wearing a flowing white dress in a field of flowers with horses? (ok, well…hopefully its not JUST me…)
Watching the royal wedding this morning (well, I watched the recap of it…I missed it live) made me open my mind up to dream. So what do you do with this? Look around you. Take a color, an expression, or a look and use it for inspiration. Dream in pictures of your own. Write a story, paint a picture, do something that expresses you and your unique view of the world. YOUR creative eye and mind.
These images are a direct product of dreaming…. representations of fairy tale longings I have seen in my (more…)
