Well, I’ve loved this horse since I first laid eyes on him (at a horse show in May) and now I love him even more that I know him, as well as his “mom” (Christi) and “grandma” (Christi’s mom) too! We had so much fun. And I loved watching these two interact. They are truly a sweet, sweet combination. Enjoy! (more…)

Shelly and Gracie

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

If you can’t tell from the images, these two are very special friends. Shelly has had Gracie for over 10 years. And while the seasons are changing in their lives, their bond will not be broken. I’m so happy that they had an opportunity to share this time together and am HONORED to have witnessed and captured this relationship. Enjoy a peek inside! (more…)

Tennessee memories

choose half FULL

To me, there is no more horrifying moment than the minutes before____________. (Fill in the blank with your choice of something scheduled). I loathe countdowns. They make me nervous and frankly, just upset. When I rode my cross country test in my very first (beginner novice) event (completely decked out with all but alternating colored clackity bell boots), I asked my trainer if she would kindly ask the guy officiating the start box to NOT do the 10 second countdown for me…he could just tell me when to go by saying “ok. go.” (I got some funny looks that day…and for more than just that reason. A simple glance at the outfit to the left can shed some light on that.) ;)

Eventually I got used to the start box countdown (by tuning it out) but I never have really gotten over countdowns in general. Its only been by accident that I recently figured out why. The way I see it lately is that counti (more…)

Snow Model Call

priddysweet model call 2011

As we’re all gearing up for the season, my head is swirling with fresh and new ideas! So this is an official call for snow-loving equestrians. That’s right, I’m ready for a model to try out some of these new ideas and THIS is your opportunity!

What it includes:

- if your application is accepted, (we can only choose one) you will have a creative session on the house (a $189 value) and (1) masonite mounted 11×14 sized print of your choice (a $224 value).
-you will be eligible to purchase additional prints if you’d like at a discounted price.
-(this is NOT a regular creative session. These are model images for the artist).

To be eligible you must:

- sign a model release (as usual)
- have a horse
- have a QUIET horse ;)
- be ready and willing to get out with said horse in the snow at your farm for as long as it takes to get the shot (hopefully not much longer than 1hour depending on your horse).
- be open to trying new things aligning with the interpretation of the artist (that’s moi). ;)
- be open to wardrobe and styling suggestions
- be mobile and flexible with the weather (we will be planning according to it). Once snow is on the radar, we will begin making our plans! :)

To apply:

please send your name, address, phone number and small photo of yourself and your horse AS WELL AS a small photo of your farm (no worries, you don’t need anything fancy– even a camera phone will do) to info@priddysweet.com. Subject line: SNOW MODEL. :) Also include a few sentences about you, your horse, and your farm and why you think you’d be a great candidate for the snow model.

Applications are on a first come-first serve basis for approval so don’t delay. :) Once your application is accepted, we will communicate all further details! :)

experiencing BIGGER

Friday, December 17th, 2010

I realized a while back that there is something special about those larger images on the wall. I bought a 30×40 canvas and hung it on the wall in sight as I sit at my desk. It speaks to me. It tells me to remember my youth, to take a deep breath, and to hug a friend. The colors and the light are something to behold. It is ART. It is powerful. And it is awesome. We experience larger images (especially ones that are practically life sized!). We can’t HELP but take them in and let them move us.

And because they are on the wall, they allow us to enjoy the memories DAILY instead of the few times each month we glance at them on a side table in the hall or (GASP!!!) tucked between the covers of a photo album. Wall portraits are magnificent. I have them staring at me from all over the room in our (NEW—COMING SOON!!) office and meeting space. (I can’t WAIT for you all to experience them too).

Purchasing Tip: when you’re thinking about what prints to order for YOUR HOME and how to maximize your budget, think about this: you will get so much more out of one large wall portrait than you can ever get from multiple 4x6s*. Same budget, just a little different mindset. Get something you can EXPERIENCE daily and make your investment in professional portraiture count.

*Gift prints for friends and family are a different story of course. ;)

More pictures to come in the next few weeks!!! Can’t wait to show you our new space in the new year!!
